indoor arenaRiding Lessons are for those wishing to learn new skills or to improve ability.  Lessons are available in basic riding upto advanced in:

 Equtation (the art of riding), Dressage, Show Jumping and Cross Country. 

  • Private Lesson (one to one) - 45 minutes £35
  • Semi-Prrivate Lesson (2 pupils only)- 1 hour £30
  • Group lesson (groups of 3 or more riders) - 1 hour £25  
  • Group horse & Pony Club Sessions - 2 hour £25

Horse/Pony Club 2 hour Sessions  these are a mixture between a 1 hour riding lesson and 1 hour stable management and horse care session.  We keep these at the same cost of our hour lessons for club members as we beleive everyone should learn about horses and how to care for them in addition to actually riding.   For non members the price is slightly higher but the annual membership fee is very low at £20 for adults or £15 for children and we even give you 2 sessions at members prices to try LQ horse or pony club for yourself.   • Members 2 hour session for £25
  • Non-members  2 hour session £30

 Hacking & Trekking hacking is riding in the countryside and along lanes and is at all paces, pony trekking is at a slower pace and is suitable for anyone including those with little or no experience.

  • Private Hack - 45 minutes £35
  • Semi-Prrivate Hack  - 1 hour £30
  • Group Hack - 1 hour £25
  • Group Hack - 2 hours (must be proficient in canter) £50
  • Group Hack - 3 Hours (must be proficient in canter) £70
  • 1 hour group trekking £25 (walking only)
  • 30 minute group Trekking - £20 (walking only)

Carriage Driving carriage driving tuition is available with Jeannette or Sue and is with a singles turnout. They are both experieenced competitors in different driven disciplines and are available for lessons including for those wanting to work towards BDS exams or driving their own turnout for competition or pleasure. 

  • Private 2 hour lesson - £65
  • Private ½ Day (3 hours) £90
  • Private Full Day (6 hours) £180
  • Shared  2 hour lesson - £50 each
  • Shared ½ Day (3 hours) £65 each
  • Shared Full Day (6 hours) £135 each

Levels of rider:

We have different ability groups to ensure everyones safety and enjoyment whilst on horseback, groups are geneerally split into children's or adult's groups but please ask if you wish to book in as a mixed family group. 

  • Beginners - those who have done no or very littlle riding, tuition in the basic controls for walking and trotting when ready.
  • Novice - Riders who have done some riding before and have the ability to walk and trot and are learning/improving cantering and optional small jumps when ready
  • Intermediate - riders who can walk trot and canter and jump small jumps proficiently and who are learning lateral work
  • Advanced - riders who are happy in all paces learning the finer arts of dressage, show jumping or cross country

SPECIAL INFORMATION FOR RIDING LESSONS

CLOTHING

What to Wear:
  • Jodphurs or trousers/thick leggings/jogging bottoms etc. (comfortable trousers that you can move in)
  • Long sleeved t-shirts or the like in summer and waterproof/warm coat in winter or for cold and wet days. (Lesson may be held inside or outside arenas).
  • Riding Boots or shoes with a smooth sole and a small heel. (Some boots are available to loan from the Centre also boots can be purchased from the Centre).
  • Riding Hat or Skull Cap  (for cross country jumping a skull hat and not riding hat, is compulsory )
  • Riding gloves (Special riding gloves available to purchase from £2.99)
  • Body Protector optional exxcept for Jumping where it is compulsory. 


HEALTH AND SAFETY

Horses can be unpredictable:  Anyone wearing open toed shoes will not be permitted on any part of the stable yard and will be asked not to go near any of the horses or ponies at this centre.

 All Parents and any other visitors Must wear sensible shoes when accompanying children or friends to these premises.


Registration:

Hats, boots and body protectors may be borrowed from us for your ride. All items are available to purchase at very competative prices from our saddlery shop.
